Overview
Fund Accounting is a comprehensive solution for fund companies and service providers with fund valuation and fund administration capabilities in a SaaS model. In this project we are transforming the user experience of an existing green screen legacy application.
Problem Statement
“The legacy green screen application posed several challenges to both users and the business. Users found it difficult to navigate, lacking the modern convenience they were accustomed to in their daily interactions with software. This led to a steep learning curve and a decrease in efficiency.”
User Research
To understand the pain points and expectations of the users, we embarked on a thorough user research journey. We conducted user interviews, surveys, and analyzed support tickets to identify the key issues faced by users. We found that the lack of a modern graphical interface and intuitive navigation were major pain points.
Design Challenges
Our main design challenge was to seamlessly transition from a text-based, green screen interface to a modern, user-friendly graphical interface. We also needed to ensure that the new design did not disrupt users’ existing workflows while significantly improving their experience.

Design Process
Through strategic incremental deployments, a reimagined user-centric design transformation will not only modernize operations processing but significantly improve efficiencies and minimize production risks. Some of the key improvements will allow users to:
- Painlessly monitor and review critical processes and statuses through proactive metrics and notifications
- Utilize exception-based views through role and context-aware sessions
- Experience workflow advancements which will improve process automation
Solution and Impact
The result of our efforts is a modern, intuitive graphical interface with WCAG 2.0 and AODA compliance that seamlessly integrates with the existing workflows. Users can now easily navigate and perform tasks, resulting in a significant increase in efficiency. This transformation has also led to a reduction in training time for new users.
